Following on from article on Wednesday, it appears the Rui Patricio to AS Roma saga is coming to an end, one that will see the Portuguese goalkeeper head to Italy.
The last we heard was how close the deal was to being completed, which is followed on on Thursday by both Corriere dello Sport and Gianluca Di Marzio.
Starting with the latter, the Italian journalist explains that Jorge Mendes, who so happens to be the goalkeeper’s agent, will be in Rome today to be present for José Mourinho’s first press conference, which, in turn, will allow him to sit down with Tiago Pinto and conclude the Rui Patricio deal.
In doing so, the transfer should be even closer to being official for a fee of around €10m + a few bonuses.
Corriere dello Sport have a similar belief that a deal will be done, going as far as stating the player should ‘shortly be in the city to undergo a medical’.
All that’s left are a ‘few bureaucratic details and the exchange of documents’ for one of the more boring sagas of the summer to come to an end.
Next, we hope, will be Granit Xhaka’s, but that’s an entirely different kettle of fish altogether.
