Following the departure of Antonio Conte, there are some players at Tottenham who could see their future in London cut short.

That could be entirely up to them, but one of the names that has been pushed to leave Spurs after the Italian’s exit is Ivan Perisic, who followed his Inter Milan manager to the Premier League in the summer.

He has done fairly well, but there has already been talk of the Croatian returning to Serie A, as Inter Live push something similar on Tuesday.

It’s said him going back to Italy ‘cannot be completely excluded yet’, especially as he has never ‘denied his past nor removed Inter from his heart’.

They believe that him going back to his former club is ‘somewhat complicated but not entirely impossible’, and two avenues could present themselves in the summer.

The first would be a ‘potential exchange with Stefan de Vrij’, although it’s worth remembering the Dutchman’s contract with Inter expires in the summer.

Therefore, this could be more of a metaphorical exchange than an official one, with the centre-back merely heading from Inter to Tottenham on a free while Spurs allow Perisic to leave ‘not at zero, but almost’.

The other would be for De Vrij to renew with Inter short-term, and then take part in a more official swap, but it’s said that ‘in the event that this possibility of exchange were to seriously take off, in all probability, neither De Vrij nor Perisic would end up saying no’.

Something for Tottenham to take into account, especially since the Netherlands international would ‘not in the least disdain a possible experience abroad’.
