Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo today features a long interview with Alejandro Pozo, a Sevilla right-back who’s currently having a loan spell at Almeria.
By spending many years at the Nervion side’s academy, he used to be a teammate of Bryan Gil, who left the club for Tottenham Hotspur last summer.
With the winger not exactly getting many minutes at the Premier League side, Pozo was asked about his friend. He claimed Gil should be fine soon, as he believes the Spurs player will get loaned somewhere else.
“You always have another team that gives you confidence, as has happened to me, and Bryan has now signed Tottenham, although now he is not playing minutes but hey, he will go out on loan and will play and feel like a footballer again,” Pozo told Estadio Deportivo.
With Pozo sounding so sure that Tottenham will send Bryan Gil on loan, he was asked about the possibility of them playing together again at the La Liga side.
“Hopefully, hopefully (laughs). If I can do something, I will do it, of course. He’s quite the footballer and I get along with him great. I already tell you that he would be delighted, because Andalusia is Andalusia. In the end it is our land and it is different for us.”
Bryan Gil joined Tottenham on a €25m deal from Sevilla in July. Despite his 19 appearances for the player this season, they’ve not exactly been hugely relevant, as he’s only featured in the Premier League for a total of 85 minutes so far.
