Luis Diaz has had an inconsistent season at Liverpool.

While he has eight Premier League goals, he has scored only three in ten games and his output has declined, having not registered a single assist during this period.

Despite the inconsistency, the Colombian has attracted attention from Barcelona.

Catalan newspaper Sport have reported today that while Alexander Isak is the club’s preferred major summer target, the Liverpool star is also firmly on the shortlist.

The report believes that he has been on Barcelona’s radar for some time now and there is a feeling that he would be delighted to play for them.

Diaz’s current Liverpool contract runs out in the summer of 2027, meaning that the Reds may have to sell him in the summer of 2026 to earn from the exit. Barcelona feel that this is why they have a ‘favourable’ chance of landing the winger, if he expresses the desire not to sign a new contract with the Anfield club.

In that case, he could also be sold in the summer of 2025. Barcelona are of the belief that the 28-year-old is a ‘real’ option for them, even if they will have to sell a player to make space for Diaz’s wage demands.
