The Portuguese press is back being confident that Chancel Mbemba is making the move from Newcastle to Porto this summer.
On Monday, newspaper O Jogo comes up with a story saying that ‘everything leads to belief that the deal will be made official soon’.
According to the outlet, Mbemba is a priority signing for the Dragons this summer, and has already agreed a deal with the club.
Now Porto are working to sort our their differences with Newcastle.
With the parties being in touch in the past few days, manager Sérgio Conceição believes the player is on his way to join the squad.
O Jogo’s story today doesn’t have any numbers, but the word in Portugal has been that the Magpies are demanding €9m for Mbemba, while Porto didn’t want to pay over €7m.
The player is pretty keen on making the move, having already signed a four-year pre-contract.
Reports from this weekend have claimed that he rejected moves to Anderlecht and Trabzonspor so he could join Porto.
