It appears that Lazio are in the lead to sign Luis Suárez from Watford.
That is what Corriere dello Sport are reporting on Thursday, claiming the Serie A side ‘would have reached an agreement’ with the player’s agents.
The Colombian striker is described as a ‘concrete and confirmed track’, and he is the ‘goal of Claudio Lotito and Igli Tare to reinforce the attack in anticipation of the Champions League’.
Corriere explain Lazio have ‘created a preferential channel’ through his agency, You First, who are also in charge of both Jony and Luis Alberto, and they are now ‘in pole’ for the Watford loanee, currently at Real Zaragoza in La Liga2.
The major hurdle for the Italians remains dealing with Watford, and a negotiation ‘will be developed for the Pozzo family’.
It’s once again claimed the player ‘is valued at €8-10m’ but it could all depend ‘on the dynamics of the market, which are today unpredictable’.
This seems a bit low, as we’ve said multiple times before, especially if the reports that Watford would like to keep Suárez for their first-team are true.
Still, Lazio appear to be pushing, and if they add the 22-year-old to a strike force of Ciro Immobile, Felipe Caicedo and Joaquín Correa, then Simone Inzaghi would be a happy man.
