Real Betis have everything ‘practically agreed’ with Hector Bellerin for him to join on a permanent transfer from Arsenal this summer.

That’s according to Mucho Deporte, who say the Spanish side are yet to reach an agreement with Arsenal and need sales before they can do so.

The website explains that Betis are working on several fronts to improve Manuel Pellegrini’s squad and Bellerin, who spent last season on loan with his boyhood club, ‘is the priority’ for the right flank.

‘Few problems are expected’ with the player and everything is ‘practically agreed’, although Bellerin will likely have to make an effort with his wages again. He earns €4m a year at Arsenal and will have to reduce that but he is happy to do so.

Talks are underway between Betis and Arsenal and according to Mucho Deporte’s sources the Gunners ‘will not prevent’ Bellerin’s departure with ‘great complications’.

Bellerin still needs to have a conversation with the Gunners to ‘square his departure numerically’ but internally it is believed neither the club nor Mikel Arteta will make life difficult.

Betis, meanwhile, will try to get the Catalan to leave the Emirates for free or a ‘small fee’ if they do have to pay.

Because of that it, MD suggest it looks like an operation that will drag ‘well into August’, although the good news for Betis is that Arsenal ‘are on board’.
