Thumped 5-0 by Paris Saint-Germain at home, Celtic will want to do everything possible to put that nightmare performance behind them, which starts by beating Anderlecht on Wednesday night.

Travelling to Belgium to face the Jupiler Pro League champions, Brendan Rodgers’ men will face a slightly stronger side than the one fielded by Nicolas Frutos over the weekend, as two of their starters should be fit to play midweek, according to Le Soir.

The players in question are left-back Ivan Obradovic (shin) and last season’s top scorer Lukasz Teodordzyk, who missed the Waasland-Beveren game with a hamstring injury.

Fortunately for Celtic, the Poland international is yet to recapture last season’s form that led to a lot of interest from the Premier League, only finding the back of the net twice in nine appearances so far.

Compare that to 30 goals in 53 appearances last season, which also included a heavy end of season slump, and Celtic are facing a far less dangerous Anderlecht side.

As for the Belgian side’s talisman Kara Mbodji, who has missed every game since returning from international duty, there’s a good chance he could also feature against Brendan Rodgers’ side, although Le Soir don’t sound as confident as for the other two.

Despite winning 2-1 at the weekend thanks to their goalkeeper, this Anderlecht side is currently in a bit of a slump, and Celtic should remain confident of picking up points midweek.
