As Celtic prepare for the upcoming Europa League game against Bayer Leverkusen, there is now one player Ange Postecoglou’s side won’t have to deal with.
That’s midfielder Robert Andrich, who hasn’t travelled to Glasgow ahead of the Celtic clash, with Kicker in Germany reporting he has had to ‘skip’ the trip ‘due to an infection’ and ‘was not on board’ the plane.
It was somewhat expected from the Germans’ end due to the fact the 27-year-old ‘could not train this week’, meaning his absence for the Celtic clash ‘had already been feared’.
The missed game, Kicker say, will be a bit of a blow for the player, who has already missed a number of games due to a three match suspension in the Bundesliga, meaning that, with the international break, his first chance of stepping onto the pitch will most likely come on October 21st against Real Betis in the Europa League.
For Ange Postecoglou’s side, this means they will likely face a midfield duo of Charles Aránguiz and Kerem Demirbay, as Celtic look to try make up for their 4-3 loss at the hands of Betis earlier this month.
