Konrad de la Fuente moved to the Barcelona youth system in 2013 and has worked his way through the ranks to be on the edges of Ronald Koeman’s first team thinking.
Unfortunately for the 19-year-old, he hasn’t got any further than that, and with Barcelona looking to make sales this summer, and desperately search around for cash injections, Konrad was a likely exit option.
That the US international also had clubs interested opened the door for Barcelona, and now a sale to Marseille is expected to happen imminently.
Marca report Konrad’s exit will be announced ‘in the next few hours’, after a medical check has been completed.
Barcelona and Marseille reached an agreement in principle on a transfer fee a few days ago, and it’s stated the youngster will move for around €5m.
What percentage of a future sale the Catalan club will keep ‘remains to be known’, state Marca.
That would suggest there will be a percentage, which potentially gives Barcelona some control over the player’s future, or at least some more profit if and when he’s sold on.
