Erling Braut Håland has impressed at Red Bull Salzburg this season, but the striker caught the attention of a larger section of football fans when he scored a first half hat-trick on his Champions League debut against Genk on Tuesday.
Prior to kick-off, reports from Austria suggested several clubs have sent scouts to watch the player in action.
Journalist Miguel Rico, writing on the last page of Mundo Deportivo claims Barcelona sent an official to the Red Bull Arena to watch the Norway international in action.
The headline of the short report reads ‘Barça watched Håland’ in the midweek European tie and within the report it’s mentioned the La Liga winners’ technician made ‘relevant reports’ about the 19-year-old.
For now, Rico only suggested the Blaugrana scouted the frontman, without going into any further details.
Håland has drawn attention from other clubs and we covered a report on Wednesday that Manchester United scouts were also present in the stadium to monitor the player against Genk.
