Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remains a target for Barcelona, but the Spanish giants do not want a ‘war’ to secure his signature.
Aubameyang has been in great form once again this season, scoring 15 goals in 25 games in all competitions despite the Gunners disappointing campaign thus far.
That form has not gone unnoticed around Europe, with several big sides all linked with a move given his contract expires in 2021.
One of those is Barcelona, and according to El Desmarque, Aubameyang’s name is one that ‘has broken into the Barça offices’.
They believe that the Arsenal striker could become ‘a real bargain’ given his contract situation, and what they say is the Gabon international’s desire to leave the Emirates.
Indeed, he has reportedly told his agents to stop all negotiations after learning of the interest from Barcelona.
Barça believe his profile would ‘fit perfectly’ with their current squad and are looking at signing him but are aware that such a player being available would ‘undoubtedly promise war’.
They are aware that the Arsenal star’s environment has already been in contact with Real Madrid and want to avoid a bidding war and his price reaching ‘unattainable figures’.
