Ousmane Dembele has already expressed his desire to stay at Barcelona, but the La Liga winners have still not closed the door for his sale.
Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo claims Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the France international and their sporting director, Antero Henrique, who has the backing of president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has already held talks with the player’s environment.
The World Cup winner has played under Thomas Tuchel, when the two were at Borussia Dortmund. The Spanish champions are aware of the French capital club’s interest in the forward as they “dream with Dembelé”.
It is because of Tuchel that PSG have registered an interest in the player. He is aware of the player’s true potential and the latter left the German outfit following his former coach’s exit from the club.
If the Ligue 1 winners submitted a formal proposal, Barcelona ‘does not close the door’ for his sale. Ernesto Valverde’s side paid €105m plus bonuses for the 21-year-old and if the same figures are offered for the player, his employer will evaluate the proposal.
So far, Dembele has been assured that his future lies at Camp Nou and has received full backing from the club to become an important player in his second season.
Despite the backing, Mundo concludes their story by saying one cannot assure 100% that the Frenchman will still be at the club after the window closes.
