Barcelona have made a ‘formal offer’ for the signing of Manchester City star Sergio Agüero, according to reports from Argentina.
Exclusive information from TyC Sports says the Catalan side are willing to sign the striker as a free agent at the end of the season.
The club’s intention would be to have Aguero as a new argument to keep Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou, since his contract expires in the summer as well.
They’ve been friends for years, sharing hotel rooms at Argentina’s national team, and could play for the same club for the first time.
It’s said that Barcelona’s new president Joan Laporta first made an approach to Agüero during his campaign, and in recent hours, he made his offer ‘formal’.
The choice is said to be in the striker’s hands, since he hasn’t made a decision regarding his future yet.
TyC claims Agüero should still receive an offer to stay at Manchester City, which would be his favourite option, besides the approaches he had from Paris Saint Germain, Inter Milan and MLS sides such as Inter Miami.
