Last Thursday, Ousmane Dembele didn’t turn up to the training on time and for over an hour and a half, Barcelona were unable to locate the forward.

The Blaugrana suffered a 4-3 defeat to Real Betis on Sunday and the France international was left out of the squad for Sunday’s clash at Camp Nou.

Catalan newspaper Sport claims Ernesto Valverde dropped him as a punishment for ‘lack of attitude’.

The ex-Borussia Dortmund man turned up late for his side’s fixture against Quique Setien’s side and it was followed by another incident, when he arrived at his seat after the second half had already started.

Barcelona director Guillermo Amor did not hold back while expressing his thoughts about Dembele’s latest behaviour.

“All the professionals have to give extra. They have to live the profession and work hard every day to play,” Amor was quoted as saying by Sport.

“At Barcelona, you have to prove yourself every day, in matches and in training.  It is expensive to play for the club, very expensive.”

There’s no question about attacker’s qualities and his ability, but if he decides against changing his attitude, there may come a time when the Spanish champions decide to end their association with Dembele.
