Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in AS Monaco fullback Vanderson seems to be scaring the competition for his signing.

With Napoli reported as one of the clubs who are chasing the 23-year-old, Italian newspaper Corriere del Mezzogiorno today has some words on this pursuit, and they’re not very positive for the Serie A side.

When naming Vanderson as one of the targets the Azzurri have, they immediately name Tottenham as competition, claiming Spurs have ‘priced the player’ and the ‘auction is looming’.

Since Monaco are reportedly demanding €30m for the Brazilian player, it’s said that Napoli are expected to ‘pull out’ of the race for now.

What now remains to be seen is whether Tottenham will match the price requested by the French side, who clearly seem to be aiming high with that sale.

Spurs pursuit had already been reported in Brazil and France as well, and the interest seems very reasonable, especially with them expected to lose Emerson Royal this summer.

Now in case Tottenham don’t have the competition from Napoli, that could give them a better chance to find a deal with Monaco.
