Borussia Dortmund will make an attempt to sign Jobe Bellingham this summer, with the decision now made to go for the Sunderland midfielder.
That’s according to SportBILD, who report that squad planning is already underway at Dortmund for next season and an ‘attempt should be made’ for the Sunderland star.
They report that Bellingham is high on BVB’s list this summer and they have already decided internally to try and bring him to Dortmund.
They believe they have the upper hand in the race for the Sunderland midfielder as they maintain close ties to the Bellingham family following his brother Jude’s time at the club. The connection with their father, Mark, has never been broken.
Jobe is said to be desperate to play in the Champions League and qualifying for that would give the German side a greater chance of securing his signature. It’s currently an open race for the top four in Germany but Dortmund are pushing.
Bellingham doesn’t have a release clause in his current Sunderland deal but Dortmund are expecting to pay €25-30m for him.
They’re completely convinced of Jobe’s qualities and the top bosses at the club have been impressed by his development in recent years. Now they’ve decided to make their move.
