According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray attacker Garry Rodrigues has told the club to increase his salary or he’ll leave this summer.
The Cape Verde international has strongly been linked with Newcastle United in recent weeks after reports the Premier League side are lining up an offer.
Rodrigues has been a key player for Galatasaray during the second half of last season and he flourished under Faith Terim as the Turkish side marched to their 21st league title.
This has brought him to the attention of Premier League clubs, including Newcastle United, but it’s also resulted in the player wanting a bigger salary.
According to Fanatik Rodrigues has reportedly said to the Galatasaray leaders: “My salary has to increase or I will go.”
These comments will come as a boost to Newcastle United after reports they are ready to offer €23m for Rodrigues.
The Magpies have tabled bids in the last two transfer windows, and monitored the forward throughout last season.
Newcastle United should expect to face competition form other clubs.
