Rodrigo Bentancur has emerged as a transfer target for Aston Villa in the winter market and the Juventus player is liked a lot by Steven Gerrard.
The Premier League side haven’t given up on signing the midfielder before the window closes on Monday.
Corriere dello Sport reported yesterday that a move to Villa Park could see the 24-year-old double his wages. It was also explained Gerrard’s side don’t intend to offer more than €22m, including bonuses, while the Turin club want €30m for Bentancur.
There seems to be a development in this case and if a report from Gianluca Di Marzio is to be believed. It’s claimed the English club have made an offer for Massimiliano Allegri’s man.
Aston Villa’s offer of €20m plus bonuses has ‘arrived’ at the Serie A side, and, at the moment, the proposal made by them for the Uruguay international has ‘not convinced’ the Old Lady.
Juventus took Bentancur from Boca Juniors in 2017 and have to give 30 percent from his future sale to the Argentine club.
If the South American were to leave the Turin club in January, Juve will focus on bringing in a new midfielder. Cagliari’s Nahitan Nández and Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Denis Zakaria have been identified as two targets.
