Aston Villa managed to sign right-back Andres Garcia in the winter transfer window.
The defender has started his journey in Birmingham well, playing five times in the Premier League, but the Spaniard wasn’t the only right-back that Aston Villa were keen on.
InterLive have reported that Unai Emery’s side had ‘swooped on’ Real Sociedad’s Jon Aramburu as well, before signing Garcia from Levante. Newcastle United are also keen.
The Venezuela international has now become a subject of intrigue for Italian champions Inter Milan, having played 36 times in all competitions so far this season.
He is currently valued at €15m by the Spanish giants and while there is also interest from Newcastle United and Atletico Madrid, Aston Villa are still very much in the race for the 22-year-old.
The South American has a keen market in the Premier League but the indication is that Inter’s Oaktree management see him as a key profile in the right wing-back area.
Since Aston Villa already have Garcia and Matty Cash at right-back now, getting another feels like a stretch.
