For weeks now, Romelu Lukaku has been keen on reuniting with Antonio Conte at Napoli. That deal is yet to be unlocked and this is leading to Aston Villa’s inclusion in the race.

Il Mattino reported last week that Aston Villa on Lukaku. The report mentioned that the Birmingham club had reached an agreement with Chelsea for Lukaku, who only wanted to join Napoli.

But Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo has offered some fresh hope to Aston Villa today.

Chelsea are, the report states, about to sign Samu Omorodion and they want to earn money from Lukaku’s exit.

They value the Belgian at €35m and Aston Villa are said to be ‘pressing hard’ for the striker. The report mentions that there is an increasing risk of the player joining Villa, especially if Napoli make no progress in their move.

There is no solution for Victor Osimhen’s future yet and while that was stopping Napoli from moving for Lukaku, they could now attempt to sign the Belgian without selling Osimhen.

Aston Villa interest appears to have been encouraged, or even invented, by Chelsea in an effort to pressure Napoli. Lukaku isn’t the type of player to simply go to the club he’s told to, so this is a difficult situation for Chelsea.
