Frederic Guilbert’s departure from Aston Villa is a story which continues gaining attention in the French media.
Back on Monday, it was Alsa’Sports who claimed the player could soon be off from the Premier League club again.
There, it was reported that Strasbourg, who had him on loan last season, are interested in signing the fullback one more time.
And as L’Équipe now comes with another story on Guilbert, they claim there are more clubs willing to get him from Aston Villa.
That outlet first confirms the negotiations with Strasbourg, before adding that Ligue 1 side Troyes are in talks for the transfer as well, although they are a club who could have problems to afford his salary.
L’Équipe even adds that Guilbert is also ‘courted’ by Championship sides, but his wish is really to go back to France.
Since returning from his loan, the 28-year-old hasn’t made a single appearance for Aston Villa.
His contract with the club expires in 2023, so a January move would be a good way for the Villans to let him go and avoid paying the rest of his salaries.
