Just yesterday, we were covering reports from Belgium saying Aston Villa defender Bjorn Engels could soon have a chance to make his debut for the national team.
It turns out there’s another player from the Villans who’s being watched by Belgium, even though he wasn’t even born in the country.
According to UOL, Wesley Moraes has been watched by people from the national team. There were emissaries watching him and Engels in the match against Everton, when the Brazilian scored a goal.
Wesley has never professionaly played in Brazil, and spent three years at Brugge, so that’s why Belgium are interested in having him.
However, according to UOL, the striker still has the dream of playing for Brazil, so he isn’t in a hurry to make a decision.
The contacts are said to be ‘informal’ for now, as the player isn’t even working on the documentation for a naturalization process.
Now it’s up to Brazil to convince him to wait for a chance.
