Aston Villa are planning to send scouts to Fenerbahçe’s clash with Galatasaray this weekend to watch Victor Nelsson in action.
That’s according to Fanatik, who say the Villans will be part of a ‘scout flock’ at the game to watch over various players.
Aston Villa’s eyes will be firmly on Nelsson, though, with Steven Gerrard seemingly keen on adding to his central defensive options.
The 23-year-old centre-back has been a regular for the Turkish side this season after signing in a £6.3m deal from FC Copenhagen in August 2021.
He’s already an international with Denmark, too, having made his debut in November 2020 and managed four appearances since then, with his last two coming in the defeat to the Netherlands, in which he played 90 minutes, and the win over Serbia in the most recent international break.
His performances this season have seemingly caught the eye, at least at Villa Park, and now it seems Aston Villa want a close look.
Fanatik say they, alongside AC Milan and Fiorentina, are all keen on the centre-back and Fenerbahçe are ‘ready to make a lot of money in a short time’ on him.
What figure they’d want for their man isn’t mentioned, but it’s sure to be a significant increase on the £6.3m they paid less than a year ago.
We’re sure that figure will come out in due course, but Nelsson is a name to keep an eye out for, first on Sunday and then throughout the summer.
