On March 25th, Sport Mediaset reported Atlético Madrid’s Mario Hermoso has received a contract offer until 2028 from Aston Villa.
Earlier this month, Calciomercato explained that the Villans have made a ‘rich offer’ to the 28-year-old, who has a deal expiring at the end of this season. It was also stated his demand of €5m per year, likely after tax, is deemed too high by Inter Milan and Napoli.
The Aston Villa target’s agent has already hinted that he’s unlikely to sign a new deal with the La Liga side.
Hermoso will be available on a free transfer in the summer window and as well as Unai Emery’s side, there are other clubs showing interest in him. This includes Beşiktaş, as per Sabah’s newspaper on Tuesday.
It’s claimed the Istanbul club have identified the centre-back as their main defensive target and have already made him an offer worth €3m per year. This hasn’t pleased the player and Sabah state he’s requested for a better deal plus a signing on bonus from Beşiktaş.
Aston Villa are said to have already made a rich offer, and that looks a more tempting destination.
