Aston Villa are preparing an offer to sign Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson this month after following the player for several months.
That’s according to Telefoot journalist Julien Maynard, who says Villa are ready to move for the Frenchman before the end of the transfer window.
Sanson has been in solid form for Marseille this season, with two goals and three assists in 17 games in all competitions this season.
He’s long been linked with a move to the Premier League and was linked to several clubs last summer when it was believed Marseille needed to raise funds via sales.

Aston Villa have been named as suitors on more than one occasion but ultimately did not make a move, with Ross Barkley instead arriving on loan from Chelsea.
Their interest has not gone away, though, and Maynard reports that after watching Sanson for several months they are ready to make their move this month.
The Telefoot journalist makes no mention of what sort of deal Aston Villa are looking at for the 26-year-old, just that they are ‘preparing to make an offer’ for his services.
How this will be received by Marseille isn’t mentioned either, but with the player’s contract expiring in 2022 and no mention of an extension as yet, there’s every chance they may be open to a sale.
