Last week, we covered multiple claims from Brazil which stated Flamengo have rejected Aston Villa’s €15m bid for Wesley França and want at least €25m to sell the right-back in the winter market.
It’s not clear whether Aston Villa will return with an improved offer for Wesley, but he isn’t the only right-back target in their list.
That’s according to El Chiringuito, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide a short update on Aston Villa.
They state Celta Vigo’s Óscar Mingueza is of interest to the Premier League side in the ongoing window and that’s all El Chiringuito have to report about Unai Emery’s side.
Mingueza, who joined the La Liga side from Barcelona in 2022, made 18 appearances this season, operating mainly as a right wing-back and at times as a left wing-back/left-back.
According to Radio Galega, relayed by Estadio Deportivo, the Spaniard has a €20m clause and this is affordable for Aston Villa.
Celta are aware of the growing interest and want to offer a new deal to the 25-year-old. He’s happy in Vigo, personally and sporting wise, and Celta aim to use it to try and extend his contract.
The Spanish club believe Mingueza wants to continue and if this were to be true, Aston Villa, led by Emery and Monchi, have to convince him to secure his services.
