Aston Villa have joined the chase for Stade de Reims’ Dion Lopy in the summer, according to an exclusive report from Wiw Sport.

Operating as a defensive midfielder, he’s made 28 appearances this season. His fine displays have seen him being labelled as one of the ‘biggest revelations’ of the season in Ligue 1.

This has clearly not gone unnoticed as Aston Villa and other clubs across Europe have shown interest in signing him.

Earlier this week, the same outlet stated Crystal Palace and Salernitana in Serie A want to sign the Senegal international. It was also explained Reims will make ‘strong demands’ to part ways with him in the next window.

This is again relayed in the latest report, and it’s then stated these sides are now joined by the Villans and Marseille in the race for the player.

It’s further claimed both Marseille and Aston Villa have asked about Lopy, without making it clear if they made contact with his agent or Reims.

Unai Emery’s side would have to battle it out with Palace, Marseille and Salernitana to sign Lopy in the summer.

The midfielder has a contract until 2026 and there’s no mention of the fee needed to take him away from Reims.
