Depor Finanzas have conducted a report to find out which European second tier clubs have the best home attendances, with Aston Villa and Leeds United making up the top two.
Aston Villa have topped the European rankings for last season averaging just over 32,000 at Villa Park. Steve’s Bruce side have been chasing promotion this season which seems to have had a positive affect on the Championship side’s attendances.
Aston Villa will be hoping they aren’t in this table next season with the possibility of getting promotion to the Premier League this weekend.
The West Midlands club are closely followed by Leeds United who last season averaged 31.534, which seems even more impressive given the way their season went.

Leeds United were the early pace setters in the Championship but had a poor second half of the season. However, this didn’t deter the Elland Road faithful, who continued to back their team throughout the campaign.
It’s also worth mentioning Wolves who came sixth in the list behind three German clubs. With Wolves title success their average attendance increased from just under 22,000 the previous year to 28,300 last season.
Obviously Wolves will not be in the running next year after their promotion to the Premier League.
Other English clubs included in the top ten were Sunderland (8th), Derby County (9th) and Sheffield United (10th).
