Josha Vagnoman has agreed to extend his contract with HSV, report Bild, but he hasn’t actually signed the paperwork yet. The new deal would take the 17 year old through to 2021, but means little until pen is put to paper.

Bild suggest that interest from England is causing a problem, with Newcastle United and Arsenal named most prominently, but Manchester City and Chelsea also getting a mention.

Newcastle and Arsenal are said to be competing to sign the young fullback, and Bild say ‘crazy million offers’ have arrived from England to try and tempt Vagnoman.

The German newspaper put the offers, which are purely wages, at €6-7m for a three year period, and that’s considered ridiculous for a young footballer who still hasn’t broken through.

Bild make their opinion very clear: ‘A madness that shows in which direction football moves.’

Despite the money being offered, Bild believe Vagnoman will continue with Hamburg, because he’s very connected to the German club. HSV have been relegated to the Bundesliga 2 this summer, and perhaps playing at a lower level will provide more opportunities for the youngster.
