Aston Villa are interested in Benfica midfielder Franco Cervi, according to claims from the Portuguese media on Tuesday.
Newspaper Jornal de Notícias says Villa are one of multiple clubs who could move for the 26-year-old this transfer window.
With manager Jorge Jesus not counting on the player, Benfica are working to get the best possible deal with his sale, and have set a price of €15m to let him go.
Given they’re a Premier League side, Aston Villa are seen as the club who could ‘easily’ match the Eagles’ demands for a deal.
There are other European sides in the competition for Cervi. Celta Vigo want to take him to Spain, while Turkish clubs Besiktas and Alanyaspor are also in the race.
Franco Cervi had four goals and four assists in 35 appearances for Benfica this season. That’s a fair amount of games he played, but since the Eagles are making big signings for his position, he’s wouldn’t have as many chances in the coming seasons.
