Aston Villa are showing interest in Real Betis star Isco, something that is causing ‘alarm’ and ‘major concern’ at the Spanish club.
That’s according to Fichajes, who report that Aston Villa are ‘already tempting’ the Spanish midfielder into a move to Villa Park this summer.
They report that Isco’s potential departure from Betis this summer is causing major concern for the club, as he has regained his best level with them and become a key player under Manuel Pellegrini.
He’d be a major loss, but his performances have not gone unnoticed by major European clubs. It is Aston Villa, though, who are one of the most interested in signing him.
Indeed, Fichajes claim that Unai Emery has asked sporting director Monchi to do everything possible to secure Isco’s signing.
He believes that the Spanish midfielder would fit perfectly into his system and bring the quality and experience needed to the side to continue their upwards trajectory.
This would be a sever blow for Betis, who are already making plans to do everything possible to keep the midfielder. This would be achieved by either improving his contract or ensuring they can offer a competitive project that will motivate him to stay.
They won’t let him leave without a fight but seem to be fully expecting Aston Villa to make their move in the coming months.
Now, we’d take all of this with a pinch of salt given the source and what we suspect is a transfer idea born solely out of the current hype about Marco Asensio’s current superb performances for Aston Villa.
Emery and Monchi have undoubtedly got an eye on Spain, though, and given their success with Asensio, perhaps they fancy repeating the trick with another former Real Madrid man.
