Aston Villa are eyeing a move for Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson this summer, having ‘closely followed’ him this season.
That’s according to Tum Spor, who cover what is likely to be a busy market at the Turkish side this summer.
They explain that Galatasaray will be ‘very active’ in the summer window, with ‘critical moves’ expected in terms of incomings and outgoings.
Several of the club’s young stars are being ‘closely followed’ by European sides, and Aston Villa are the ones keeping an eye on Nelsson.
That’s something we’ve heard before, with Fanatik reporting earlier this month that Aston Villa were part of a ‘scout flock’ planning to watch the clash with Fenerbahce April 10th.
That report stated Steven Gerrard’s side, as well as AC Milan and Fiorentina, were sending scouts to watch over the 23-year-old, who has impressed after signing in a £6.3m deal from FC Copenhagen in August 2021.
Tum Spor now follow that up, and state Galatasaray are aware of the interest and Aston Villa are ‘expected to knock’ on their door with ‘serious offers’ for the player.
At the moment president Burak Elmas and his staff are holding off transfer negotiations until later in the year as they are set to be replaced by a new regime.
The new administration will be the ones who ‘have to respond to the proposals’ that are expected, including the potential one from Aston Villa for Nelsson.
There’s no mention of an asking price at this point, but that earlier report from Fanatik did state Galatasaray are ‘ready to make a lot of money in a short time’ on the player, so it appears Villa may have to dig deep into their pockets if they do want him.
