Two Premier League sides are interested in Benfica B youngster Fabio Baptista, according to claims on Wednesday.
Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are said to both be following the winger, who’s still to make his debut for the Eagles’ first team.
Strangely, the news doesn’t come from Portugal. It’s actually Italian website Calcio Mercato who writes about the chase in an exclusive article.
They say Serie A side Atalanta are also following the 19-year-old, and now have competition from the English sides.
Calcio Mercato doesn’t say how much the would player cost, or if Aston Villa and Crystal Palace would be willing to pay the same as Atalanta.
All they write is that the player could be an option for the January or the summer market, so the Italian side may be keen on moving for him pretty soon.
As we wait for the Portuguese media to say something about it, we should soon get to know how much Benfica will demand for a possible sale.
