Aston Villa and Newcastle United have emerged as contenders to sign Sevilla’s Loïc Badé.
That’s at least what Vamos Mi Sevilla FC are reporting, when sharing the latest on the 24-year-old.
The centre-back was part of the France squad that won Silver at the Paris Olympics in the summer.
Badé has made nine appearances this season and his performances have clearly not gone unnoticed. Aston Villa and Newcastle are the latest clubs to show interest in the defender.
Last month, we covered claims from Spain that Liverpool have identified the Frenchman as a target to replace Virgil van Dijk. The Dutchman has less than a year left on his deal and his long-term future at Anfield needs to be clarified.
As well as the Reds, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are in the picture to sign the defender. It’s claimed these top clubs are joined by Aston Villa and Newcastle in the race for Badé.
Unai Emery’s side and the Magpies’ interest certainly pleases Sevilla, who are looking to earn more from Badé’s sale.
On September 2nd, the player extended his contract until 2029, and it reportedly includes a €50m release clause. It’s claimed Sevilla would need a fee close to €30m to sanction his sale.
