Tottenham Hotspur were credited with an interest in AS Monaco’s Vanderson towards the end of the summer window.
Back in August, journalist Bruno Andrade stated Spurs had opened talks to sign the right-back. There were also claims from France that Tottenham would make an offer, but no deal took shape in the end.
Fast forward to December and L’Equipe point out the interest shown by Tottenham in the 23-year-old in the last window.
The report now states the Ligue 1 side are willing to sell the Brazil international and his compatriot, Caio Henrique, in the winter market.
Vanderson’s deal lasts until 2028, and Monaco are ready to sell him for €25m in January.
With regards to Tottenham, it’s claimed their interest never materialised in the summer, indicating their unwillingness to make an offer.
L’Equipe assume Ange Postecoglou’s side won’t return for the South American next month and have dumped the idea of securing his services, largely because the cost is too high.
The Premier League side sold Emerson Royal to AC Milan in August and replaced him with Archie Gray. He has been used as a right-back and across multiple positions this season, while Pedro Porro is the first choice right-back at Tottenham.
