“Arsenal will really give €45m for Joelson” is the headline of one of A Bola’s stories today.
The Portuguese newspaper writes that the Gunners are ‘crazy’ about the Sporting winger, and are willing to trigger his release clause.
The outlet claims that on Wednesday, there have been several meetings where Arsenal ‘intensified’ their interest in the 17-year-old.
The talks are being handled by Joelson’s agent Kia Joorabchian, who has ‘privileged contacts’ with the London side, as well as by the player’s father Eusébio Mango Fernandes.
It’s said the offer could be made in the coming days.
A Bola writes that Arsenal see huge potential in Joelson, and don’t want to miss the chance of signing a potential world class player, after missing out on Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes.
Triggering his release clause would be a way of avoiding the competition from the likes of Barcelona and Juventus.
It’s also claimed that the Gunners will offer Joelson a five-year contract, with the promise of giving him a place in the first team right away.
The teenager made his debut for Sporting this month, and only has 63 minutes played for the first team so far.
