Yacine Brahimi has lived a strange life during his past few months at Porto. At the start of the season, he wasn’t even being called for games, being completely forgotten by the club. Then the situation had a turn around, as he’s now one of the most important players of the squad and the rumours of a move are back to the papers.
On Monday, A Bola are taking claims from the English press to say that Arsenal and West Ham are both interested in having the winger.
Arsene Wenger has been repeatedly linked with interest in the past, with stories of Slaven Bilic being interested reported to a lesser degree.
A Bola claim that it wouldn’t be so easy for Arsenal or West Ham to take him, as Everton have already had a €20m bid turned down during the last summer. Porto would only sell him for at least €30m.
It seems like a good story, but the thing is that we’re not really convinced that Arsenal and West Ham are after the player.
We’ve had a little dig into the claims, but couldn’t find any recent articles that link both London clubs to Brahimi. The Sun have reported that 11 clubs are chasing him, but the link tracks back to A Bola. Plus Manchester United are included in that list and we see no reason why A Bola wouldn’t take the opportunity to mention José Mourinho’s side.
English clubs, including Arsenal and to a lesser degree West Ham, are often watching Porto games, so it would be no surprise if these names were taken from the scouting lists.
