After scouting several games in the Portuguese league this year, Arsenal obviously couldn’t miss the most important match of the season.

Benfica played Porto in a clash which was worth the top of the league this Sunday, and according to newspaper O Jogo, Arsene Wenger scouts were present in the stands.

The outlet claims the officials had one special target at the match, which was the Benfica winger Andrija Zivkovic, already linked to Arsenal this season.

The Serbian international was one of the best players for the home side, being the most creative midfielder in the team, and also helping the fullbacks in the defensive part.

But Zivkovic still couldn’t be decisive enough to help Benfica score a goal, and the Eagles ended up having a painful 1-0 home loss, which left Porto on top of the table.

Arsenal have been linked to Zivkovic for a long time now, especially when club scouts make a trip to the Estádio da Luz. Even though the player has a €60m release clause, recent reports have been suggesting that he can be available for half that price.

This game attracted a long list of emissaries. Only from the Premier League, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Swansea City, Leicester City, West Ham and Everton were all present as well.
