Serie A side Napoli don’t seem keen on selling 25-year-old midfielder Jorginho to Arsenal . As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Gunners have recently made an attempt to sign the Brazilian, but Napoli’s plan is to keep him for a little longer yet.
The newspaper claims Arsenal have been keen on offering £15m, and the message was passed by the player’s agent to the Italian club.
But Napoli rejected it, and apparently aren’t giving much margin for Arsenal to offer more. The club really want the player to stay.
Despite starting most of Napoli’s matches last season, Jorginho isn’t exactly indispensable at the club. He stayed in the bench in several games as well, including those against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
That’s why it’s a little weird to see the club so convinced he can’t be bought, especially when a big side like Arsenal are interested. Maybe £15m isn’t enough, and a few more million could convince them.
Or maybe this is all about Napoli flexing their transfer muscles via Gazzetta.
