Arsenal ‘could try to make a move’ for Juventus midfielder Arthur in January as the Italian club look to move him on.
That’s according to journalist Nicolo Ceccarini, who says a permanent move for the Brazilian midfielder is off the cards because of his high value.
He explains that Juventus ‘absolutely need’ to do something in January if they are to secure a Champions League place in the second half of the season.
Reinforcing midfield is key to their hopes, but in order to buy someone, they need at least one or two players to leave. At the top of that list is Arthur.
The ‘tactical feeling’ between the former Barcelona midfielder and Max Allegri is not there, and that is why the ‘goodbye is looming’.
He’s been valued at more than €70m which means a permanent transfer is ‘practically impossible’ at this moment in time.
The midfielder wants to play in the World Cup in Qatar, though, and so needs a club where he can find ‘continuity of performance and efficiency’. Arsenal could be ready to offer that to him.
The Premier League is considered one of the ‘most concrete destinations’ for the Brazilian, and in England, it is Arsenal showing the most interest, with Ceccarini stating they could ‘try to make a move’ for his signature.
There is interest from Sevilla, too, while ‘other possibilities’ should not be ‘underestimated’ at this point either.
There’s seemingly nothing concrete, but with Juventus needing to raise funds and Arthur wanting the move, there is something there to be done in January, and Arsenal might be involved.
