While there’s no denying that Mohamed Salah is the biggest star in Egyptian football these days, there will come a time when someone else will take over, and that man could be Omar Marmoush.
The forward, currently on loan at VfB Stuttgart from Wolfsburg, has caught the eye with his performances this season, and Arsenal are among those taking notes.
The news comes from Bild in Germany, who explain the Gunners are one of the teams ‘closely monitoring’ the AFCON finalist.
In fact, both Arsenal and Tottenham ‘have long since put the lightning-fast and tricky attacker on their shopping list’, who is doing a lot of ‘self-promoting’, as they put it, at Stuttgart.
That’s because every time he plays, he was a ‘major win’ on the pitch.
Not only that, but the player has always had a move to the Premier League as a ‘big career goal’, having ‘dreamed of England even as a boy’.
In fact, he’s done everything he can to make that come true, recently switching to ICM Stellar Sports, who represent a number of Premier League players, including Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney.
Whether that gets him a move to the Gunners or anywhere else in the country remains to be seen, but with a contract expiring in 2023, he could be a cheap target for both clubs.
And Bild make it clear to point out that both Arsenal and Tottenham ‘know that too’.
