Earlier on Tuesday we covered claims from France’s RMC about a transfer closing in for Laurent Koscielny.
The defender has wanted to leave Arsenal this summer and that even led him to refusing to go on the club’s preseason tour, and now it looks like he’ll get his way… even if it is for a price.
RMC said Bordeaux would be paying €6m for the player, and Koscielny himself would be getting a three year contract, something which would take him to the age of 36 and potentially the end of his playing career.
France Football have it slightly differently, they say Bordeaux are giving out a two year contract, with the third season being optional. There’s no explanation around who can enforce that option.
It’s stated the deal is now very close to being announced, and that’s expected to happen ‘no later’ than 12.30pm.
Koscielny is currently going through his medical with the Ligue 1 club.
