Spanish outlet AS today brings an interesting story on how Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been following a Brazilian youngster.

Their report claims that both North London clubs are interested in the signing of Miguel Silveira, a 16-year-old midfielder who plays for Fluminense.

It’s the Gunners who are said to be moving fast, and they’re ahead of Tottenham, having watched him a few times and having even visited his family in Rio de Janeiro.

But there are still no details no how the negotiations are going, although Silveira has a price tag, which is the €35m release clause in his contract with Fluminense.

AS claims that the Premier League sides are adopting the same strategy that Real Madrid have, which is to get Brazilians as early as possible in their careers.

They say the Galacticos managed to sign the best Brazilian from 2000, which is Vinícius Junior, then Rodrygo from 2001, Reinier from 2002, and now Miguel Silveira could be the country’s biggest star from 2003.
