Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is ‘the object of desire’ for Italian side Torino, who are hoping to lower the Gunners’ €20m asking price.
That’s according to Tuttosport, who provide further coverage of the Serie A club’s interest in the Uruguayan midfielder.
Torino have been heavily linked with a move for Torreria this summer, with numerous reports claiming that they were keen and trying to make a move happen.
Those reports have ramped up over the last week with it claimed that their manager Marco Giampaolo had talked to Torreira ‘several times’ and that the Arsenal man wanted the move.
That was followed by claims yesterday that Fiorentina are ‘not holding back’ in their own pursuit of the player.
Today’s edition of Tuttosport say he is an ‘object of desire’ for Torino and that ‘nobody says no’ to him arriving at the club this summer.
However, Arsenal’s €20m asking price is a problem. That is something the club are working to bring down, a task they are undertaking with ‘confidence’.
That would suggest they feel they can get Torreira at a price they think is far more acceptable, or perhaps on a loan deal, which is another option that has been mooted in various reports.
