Arsenal and Bayern Munich are in the picture to sign Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku in the summer window.
That’s according to RMC Sport, who say Arsenal and Bayern Munich were interested in the forward in the winter market.
Chelsea retained the 27-year-old but could find it difficult to hold on to him beyond this season.
That’s because of Nkunku’s stance and both Arsenal and Bayern Munich are still interested in him.
He scored 14 goals and registered five assists from 42 games for Chelsea this season. The France international has been limited to 910 minutes from 27 Premier League games and isn’t happy with the limited role.
Enzo Maresca mainly utilised him on the left wing [as a starter] instead of his preferred position up front. This, as per the report, is another reason for his unhappiness.
The former RB Leipzig man has two goals [one against Morecambe FC in the FA Cup] and an assist in this calendar year. His role under Maresca and limited game time could lead to his exit in the upcoming window.
In fact, RMC Sport state Chelsea and Nkunku have ‘reached point of no return’. He’s now search for a Champions League club that’s guaranteed to play in the Champions League. This has seen both Arsenal and Bayern Munich rekindle their interest in him.
The report adds the Gunners and the Bundesliga side are expected to ‘return to the fray’ for the Frenchman.
More developments are expected in the coming weeks.
