Arsenal midfielder Martin Ødegaard has refused to discuss about his future, but has stressed he’s happy at the Emirates and also revealed his ‘big dream’ is make his mark at the Bernabéu.
The 22-year-old took a pay cut to join the Gunners on a loan deal from Real Madrid in January, as reported by Marca, before adding the Norwegian couldn’t showcase his qualities at Real Madrid because of a knee injury, thus not getting enough time on the pitch to shine.
However, since the move, Ødegaard has been able to demonstrate his qualities under the orders of Mikel Arteta, which has also helped him regain his self-confidence.
The north London club’s desire to retain him beyond his loan spell is shared by everyone at the club, starting from their manager to their sporting leaders.
The Premier League side have ‘no choice’ when it comes to extending his stay and Real Madrid aren’t in favour of a transfer. In addition to this, the report states the playmaker is ‘still determined’ to succeed with Los Blancos.
However, he first wants to know what the manager of his parent club expects of him and what role he will have next season in Madrid.
Those at the Bernabéu are also clear that Ødegaard is fundamental to the club’s future and believe he will deliver, having now overcome his physical problems and regained his confidence.
Even though Ødegaard is impressing at Arsenal, his desire is to return to Real Madrid and succeed at the Spanish club.
Luckily for him, even Zidane’s side share the same view and want to offer him a ‘second opportunity’.
