Earlier this month when Lorenzo Insigne was linked with a move away from Napoli, and to the Premier League, it felt like half his family came out and said it absolutely wasn’t happening.
Brother and father insisted the player is happy at Napoli and happy in Naples, having no plans to leave the club at any point in the foreseeable future.
So that should have been that. But, no.
Calciomercato have picked up claims from Napoli radio about Arsenal interest.
Of course, the two sides are set to face each other in the Europa League soon, so dragging Arsenal in to breathe life into a dead Insigne rumour may well just be done to catch attention from Napoli fans.
Nevertheless, it’s stated Arsenal ‘seem determined to make progress’ on the potential signing and will watch Insigne closely during the Europa League tie.
It’s even claimed the Gunners may have already tested the ground.
Lots of unlikely things would need to happen for Insigne to move to Arsenal, even if the claims are correct, so there’s only one place to file this one.
