Arsenal sent scouts to Spain U19s recent clash with Albania as they joined a host of European clubs scouting the game.
That’s according to Super Deporte, who say that Valencia duo Jesús Vázquez and Cristhian Mosquera ‘had their full attention’.
The outlet explains Spain’s youth side are currently engaged in an effort to qualify for the next European Championships, and their latest fixture saw them taking on Albania.
That game ended 2-2, which was a frustrating one for the Spaniards, but there were two ‘outstanding’ performances in that game from Vázquez and Mosquera.
The pair are regulars for Valencia under José Bordalás this season, and that has seen them establish themselves on the international stage as ‘natural leaders’ in the U19 setup.
Against Austria they were ‘on top form’ and even came close to sealing all three points with chances a piece at the end of the game.
Their displays did not go unnoticed by the scouts in attendance and the players ‘had their full attention’ throughout the game.
Their ‘physical and technical conditions’ did not go unnoticed by those in attendance, and both of their displays were labelled ‘outstanding’.
Whether the likes of Arsenal will turn that into serious interest in future remains to be seen, but Valencia are calm about it regardless.
They have both players tied to deals until 2025, with Mosquera’s deal also including a release clause worth €25m.
That’s the figure Arsenal would need to get him, and it’s likely Valencia would want the same for his teammate as well.
The interest isn’t at that stage yet, but their scouts were certainly impressed by what they saw in their latest scouting mission, so keep an eye out for their names in the near future.
