Andrea Masiello’s injury problems this season forced Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini to field Gianluca Mancini in the heart of his side’s defence and he played the full 90 minutes in the last four league matches.
In these four fixtures, Atalanta scored 15 goals and conceded three and the centre-back’s performance at both ends of the pitch has been vital, scoring three goals and registering an assist.
According to Calciomercato, scouts from Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund were in attendance at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia to watch Mancini in action for his side against Inter Milan.
The former Fiorentina man got his name on the scoresheet as Gasperini saw his men seal a 4-1 victory over Inter Milan, which was the Nerazzurri’s first defeat in the league since mid September.
It’s claimed that Mancini’s performance was ‘positive’ against a strong opponent as the north London club and the Bundesliga outfit selected the right game to watch the player.
However, the report does not mention if Arsenal are expected to do anything about it.
